Shruti Haasan has no time for dad

He is one of the most respected actors in Bollywood and Tamil cinema, one who several directors and actors aspire to work with. But actor-director Kamal Haasan says that he has to wait to work with his daughter actor Shruti Haasan since she has no time for him, right now.
“I would love to work with her and we are planning something, but she is busy. I will have to wait for her,” says the 58-year-old dad. Shruti has in the past, worked in films like Luck (2009) and is set for releases Ramaiyya Vasthavaiyya and D Day, later this year.
Kamal, who is now working on the second part of his controversial film Vishwaroopam, says that he is confident the second part will be a success. “I always knew the first part would be successful, I was just not sure how much. This is not arrogance, this is confidence,” he says.
Ask him if he is apprehensive about the second part running into controversy, given that the first part was not allowed to release in Tamil Nadu by the Mardas High Court, and he says, “The controversy was not about the content, but it was made to look like it was. The attention on the film should have been for what it deserved — it’s technically brilliant— but people were more interested in the controversy. I don’t make films for publicity, I make them for my audience. All the appreciation was lost in the furore and we couldn’t enjoy the applause.”
So, is this film going to be a sequel to the earlier film? “Vishwaroopam 2 is neither a sequel nor a prequel, it is in a way both. I had written the film in two parts. We decided to do it such, so that individually both the parts could work and we could tell the audience the entire story. The second part will explore the emotional aspects of human relationships and will be more romantic,” shares the director-actor.
